Our client in the transportation industry is in need of a UX/UI designer. In 2024, a long-term initiative has been launched to modernize the IT systems that are crucial for operating their business efficiently and sustainably.

As a UX designer, you will play a key role in the development of a new web portal for ordering and contract management. This portal is central to streamlining the management of travel bookings, monitoring of trips, capacity planning, and actions in case of travel deviations.

Your responsibility includes creating an optimal user experience for three main target groups:

• Booking center – which handles travel bookings via phone. • Travel guarantee department – which supports travelers in case of issues such as delays. • Transport providers – taxi companies that have contracts to carry out the trips.

Your design efforts will be crucial in improving interaction and efficiency for all users of the system.

You will be part of a newly established development team consisting of a tech lead, frontend and backend developers, and testers. Your role is to identify user needs and context, and together with the team, develop a solution that is both efficient and tailored to the target groups.

Your responsibility includes leading the design process for a web portal for ordering and contract management. This means understanding the users, developing concepts and UX flows based on user insights, and creating a validated design. You also need to prioritize functionality based on user and business needs, determining which features are critical to have from the start and which can be developed later.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least nine (9) years of full-time work in UX/UI design, of which at least seven (7) years must be in UX design. • Documented experience of working methodically and customer-centered throughout the design process. This must be supported by at least two (2) assignments of at least one (1) year each, performed within the last five (5) years, where these methods have been successfully applied. • Proven experience of independently leading and executing a complete design process. This includes identifying necessary activities, adapting the approach to current conditions, selecting appropriate methods, and involving the right partners at the right times. At least two (2) assignments from the last five (5) years must support this experience, where the entire design process was carried out within the same assignment. • Proven experience in collecting, visualizing, and communicating customer insights from at least three (3) assignments. • Documented ability to prioritize functionality in a solution using design methods and a customer-centered approach, based on at least three (3) assignments. • Experience in creating and developing multiple conceptual solutions in parallel based on customer insights, as well as evaluating these from both a business and user perspective, from at least three (3) assignments. • Proven experience of working with design in an agile development team, with a duration of at least one (1) year in at least two (2) previous assignments or projects. • Proven experience in creating sketches and interactive prototypes that have been tested and evaluated by end-users, based on at least three (3) projects completed within the last five (5) years. • Documented experience of leading and executing design work for work tools, supported by a description of at least one (1) assignment with a duration of at least one (1) year, completed within the last eight (8) years.

Desirable Qualifications

• Proven experience of performing assignments for the public sector in at least one (1) project with a duration of at least one (1) year. • Documented ability to transform user needs into clear and structured functional and non-functional requirements in at least one (1) project.
